Aircraft to look out for in the show




The Boeing 787(Mon,Tue only). This much delayed composite aircraft is to replace the 767 in Boeings range. With a range of 9000 miles and a cruise of Mach .89 and carries up to 290 passengers. This is the aircraft show debut and its first foreign trip
The Lockheed-Martin/Boeing F-22 Raptor(Monday and Tuesday only) is the most stunning display at the show but will be only seen by few. The aircraft is operating from Fairford and produces a show that will not be bettered this year. This is mainly to do with its thrust vectoring technology. Capable of Mach 2.25 and 1800 mile range
The long delayed Airbus A400M is an impressive aircraft in the air and on the ground. This is the second prototype of Airbuses first military aircraft. With a uncertain future in an era of defense cuts it is looking for sales.
The Pakistani Air Force JF-17 strangely will not fly during the airshow and may depart midweek. This is a joint Chinese/Pakistan project and has recently entered service in Pakistan with 26 squadron
The A380 a crowd favorite, the display shows what can be done with such a massive aircraft that is now a daily sight at world airports
The vintage Avro Vulcan bomber brings its distinctive shape to the public days and flew in formation with the red arrows on the opening day. Listen out for the Vulcan howl

The Boeing F/A-18 Hornet gives a most impressive display from this US Navy carrier aircraft. It is a multi role air defence and attack aircraft and the type has seen service in Afghanistan and Iraq>
The Mighty B-52 remains a stalwart of the USAF despite being 50 years old. The aircraft will perform single flypasts later in the week from Fairford.
Needing little introduction are the Red Arrows Hawk's who will appear at the weekend.
